Can we make medals more interesting?

• Medal = symbol for participation
• Usually object itself is not very inspiring
• Can we add a layer of meaning?
• Can we personalize it?

• Source: Nike + data from a marathon I ran last September.
• Nike +: system for tracking workout data using a sensor in the shoe.
• Data: distance at 10 seconds intervals.
• No official support for exporting Nike + data, but easy with Nike+PHP.

• Scale can be rotated above the data, so values at a point in time can be read.
